The Battle of Hürtgen Forest was fought in an area of heavy forestation, of some 50 square miles in an area that begins about 5 miles south and east of Aachen, Germany and falls into a triangle outlined by Aachen, Düren and Monschau.

The Battle of Hürtgen Forest was overshadowed by the American victory in the Battle of the Bulge, and as a result, few books and articles have been written about it.

The following American infantry divisions - the 1st, 4th, 8th, 9th, 28th, 3rd Armored, 78th and the 83rd - fought in the forest. The 9th Division, in effect, fought there twice. Numbers of supporting tank, tank-destroyer, cavalry, chemical, medical, and artillery units, also fought in the forest.

The following German divisions fought there -

47th Volksgrenadier
89th Infanterie
116th Panzer
272nd Volksgrenadier
275th Infanterie

Like the actual course it is hoped it will attract serious Mil Sim airsoft players from locally and around the country who will then serve as instructors for their units and teams and serve as a sort of train the trainer event.

This is primarily a patrolling course but secondarily a period event. Therefore strict uniform standards are highly encouraged. We have extensive loaner gear to supplement what you don't have if needed.

Less than half an hour after they disembarked one U.S. Commander discovered a cache featuring assorted enemy firearms, medical supplies, "… you name it and it was there," said one infantry platoon leader. It got so bad that the men didn’t want to find any more because it meant they had to carry it back to the boats,"

Vietnam Milsim Airsoft

On 24 April 1966, MACV directed Operation BIRMINGHAM commenced under control of the 1st Infantry Division. Division OPORD 8-66, dated 19 April 1966, specified that the operation was to be conducted in TAY NINH Province. The area was bounded on the west and north by the CAMBODIAN Border, on the south by the SONG VAM CO River and TAY NINH City and on the east by the 40 N - S grid line (Annex A, Operation Overlay). The two brigade (reinf) operation was launched to locate and destroy VC forces and base camps in the area of operations. Two reinforced brigades operated in assigned areas, and moved rapidly to successive areas by helicopter to exploit new intelligence on VC troop and supply installations. Planning was continuous and orders were issued for operations in new areas as the situation developed.

In April of 1968, the 25th Infantry division commenced participation in Operation: Toan Thang. 25th Infantry Division Operations Order 1-68 (TAB F) established the mission of the division as follows:

a. Within assigned operational area of CMD, complete destruction of enemy battalions and company sized units, prevent infiltration of major forces from the western zone and support 2nd ARVN ABN TT as required.

b. Conduct combined offensive operations in conjunction with 25th and 5th ARVN Infantry Divisions throughout TAOI to destroy enemy forces with priority to elements of 7th NVA and 9th VC Divisions

At 0615 on 14 April at vicinity XT512249, Company C, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry (1st Brigade) engaged an unknown number of VC with small arms, automatic weapons and supporting artillery.

It's the next day, and the VC are hiding. Join your patrol to hunt down the NVA/VC who are planning a major attack on Saigon for May 1!

Airsoft Boot Camp

We will be covering several different subjects including: Gun safety, AEG Care, AEG Upgrades, Tactical gear compared, Small squad tactics, Individual movement techniques, operation planning, radio communication protocols, and camouflage. The camp will end with a large game on the last day to test the skills you have acquired during the camp.

Groups will be broken down into fireteams of 4-6 members and each fireteam will move from class to class through out the day. Each day will have small skirmishes and contests to see who has learned the most from the days classes. Awards will be given to those who excel at the classes.
